It is a family estate of about 15.5 ha of vines located in the northern part of the Côte de Beaune (Chorey, Savigny, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix) in Ladoix, bordering the Côte de Nuits. The production is mainly red, 13.5 ha of pinot noir, 1.5 ha of chardonnay, 0.5 ha of aligoté. The estate is managed by Pierre, Edith his wife, and Emmanuel his cousin. Edmond, retired, brings his precious support, by his advices and his help.
Respectful of the environment, plants and people, the estate obtained the "Agriculture Raisonnée" qualification in 2007. In this philosophy, the vine develops in harmony with the environment in which it lives (flora and fauna) allowing the production of high quality, healthy and ripe grapes. As a result and in the same spirit, the winemaking process does not need any artifice to produce quality wines with a beautiful personality.
Terroir and breeding
The village of Ladoix is located 5 km north-east of Beaune in the direction of Nuits Saint Georges, at the foot of the famous hillside of Corton. The production of chardonnay on Ladoix concerns rather deep marly-limestone soils giving generous and elegant wines. White Ladoix are rare and exceptional.
Hand picked, the whole harvest is sorted and then pressed. After settling, the must begins its alcoholic fermentation. It is then put in barrels for about fifteen months of maturing during which the malolactic fermentation will take place. It is then bottled after a racking.
Golden green colour. The fatness and roundness of this wine are enhanced by aromas of white flowers and hazelnut. To be drunk from 3 to 4 years old, with fish in sauce or a nice poultry.
